We believe lifestyle changes are a key component in achieving health. We will recommend nutritional adjustments and specific restorative movements tailored to your needs. Please follow them and give us feedback so that you can achieve a healthier life.
Do I need to fast for my labs? Where do I go to get the labs done?
Labs that require fasting include — lipid panel, fasting glucose, insulin, iron panel, and H. pylori breath test.
If you are fasting, you should still drink water. You may consider bringing a snack to eat afterward, especially if you are not accustomed to fasting or if multiple tests are included in your lab order.
We put orders electronically to either CPL (Clinical Pathology Laboratories) or Quest Diagnostics. You can either go to their websites and schedule a time and location, or just walk in if you don’t have time to schedule.
What about supplements?
Every individual’s situation is unique, and our needs evolve at each stage of life. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, and more intervention does not necessarily lead to better outcomes. We welcome thoughtful conversations tailored to your specific circumstances.
What if I need an imaging study?
We fax our orders to Austin Radiological Association (ausrad.com). They will contact you usually within the same week. If you do not hear from them as expected, please give them a call, and notify us as well.
What should I expect after acupuncture treatment?
Acupuncture gently guides the body to re-achieve balance. You may feel a little tired or sleepy afterwards, but overall relaxed and calm. Since the body is putting in the work for healing, please help it heal by avoiding vigorous activities, recreational drugs, large meals, caffeine, or alcohol for at least six hours after treatment. Please avoid operating heavy machinery or driving if you are very sleepy after the treatment.
If you have GuaSha, cupping, or moxa during the treatment, please keep the area covered and avoid getting wind or cold exposure. Also, avoid taking a shower for at least six hours after the treatment.
You should drink plenty of water after the treatment to help the body rehydrate and flush out waste metabolites.
